Katie Michaelson and son 1967.

I was invited to write my Ten Things You Don’t Know About Me story by Adrienne Beaumont, Karen Schwartz, Julie Gaeta, and Barb Dalton 🇺🇦. I admire these women and enjoyed their stories. So here ya go.

1. I had rabies shots, yes; it was because my husband was afraid I’d bite — no, wait; I was a wildlife rescuer/rehabilitator. I loved that. I did studies on cost-effective dietary substitutes for certain animals. Puppy milk replacement was expensive and not the best for the health of many animals. Miss the critters.

2. I changed schools 15 times before graduating from high school. That’s not a good thing and quite an awful way to get schooling. Well, you don’t. But I gained a heavy dose of human compassion and spiritual strength. So, it’s good.

3. I color coordinate my clothes, my gifts, my mail, my toes;

4. I wanted to be a nun. A cloistered nun who takes a vow of silence. I was not accepted because of my health. That made me really ticked off at God. But He wasn’t ticked off at me. I got over it — being ticked off. I’d still like to be a nun.

5. I was given a police escort out of Sturgis, South Dakota, during the International Motorcycle Rally. circa 1986. Yes, sweet little wanna be a nun me! I think I’ll go this year to research one of my books — that’d be Matilda — The Novel. You can sign up here for more info. About the rally.

6. I married my first love 27 years after I broke his heart. He’d kept my name on his arm all those years.

7. Name a craft — I’ve learned how to do it. Adrienne Beaumont, Karen Schwartz, Barb Dalton 🇺🇦, and Julie Gaeta want a list. So here ya go. Embroidery, hand sewing, machine sewing, lace doll making, corn husk doll making-primitive, corn husk doll making fancy, acrylic painting (sold every one of those babies for $50), wall art, ceramics, pottery, mosaic tile art, quilling…
